Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American British guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She was the as the lead guitarist in The Runaways - a hard rock group made up of all girls - in late 1970s. The band was not a success on the scene in the United States, but gained huge popularity abroad. Ford began a metal solo career when the band split in 1979. She began taking vocal lessons. Her first solo release was called 'Dancing on the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very well-received, and so she went under the radar for a couple of years. The year was 1988 when Ford debuted her wildly successful album , 'Lita.' The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both big hits.
